In this abstract workshop students will learn to collage with tissue papers, imitation gold leaf, use pumice and gesso, possibly spackling, and stencils creating interesting textures on which to apply pastels. Found objects as accents like rust pieces, ceramic focal, maybe old jewelry or family collections may be added. This will be a truly experimental class letting your imagination loose! I will provide metal leaf, pumice, surface treatment, glue, and spackling. I will bring a variety of papers to use for collage. Below are the other supplies you will need. Supplies · Stiff brush for applying glue or medium for collaging (cheap small painters brush from hardware store) · If you have a hard brayer, it might come in handy · Small mixing cups or plastic bathroom disposable drinking cups · Paper towels · Wet ones or baby wipes · Brushes for applying paint and gesso (cheap utility brushes not good ones) · Hair dryer · Pastels (chalk not oil pastels) we do have some extra to share · Found objects that you think you might could use in your piece Questions: Contact Marlene gremartist@gmail.com or 501-226-9940 |

Barbara Holt will be teaching an ongoing art/drawing class from 1:00-2:30 p.m. on the first and third Saturdays of each month. Barbara says this is more like a tutoring session, with each student receiving individual attention depending on his/her existing abilities, needs, and interests. Various media will be explored during these classes. Think of a one-room schoolhouse with a teacher who can teach all levels of development at the same time! All supplies are provided, and each class session is $5.00. Ages 9 and up, including adults.
