Meet the Artist Allie Graves
Allie Graves has been a professional artist for more than 30 years. Her work has been exhibited in one-woman shows and museums throughout the United States. She was born in Caddo Gap, Arkansas. As a child, her family moved to Pot Creek, New Mexico. Her father worked in a sawmill. He purchased her a set of watercolors when she was ten years old and she loved painting from then on. Growing up eight miles from the famous art community of Taos, New Mexico was an inspiration to her as well.
Allie has been married to her husband, Lee, for fifty-eight years, and they raised three sons. In 1965 they moved back to Arkansas, and after the children had grown up she began to enter art shows and exhibit her paintings in one-woman shows. As a professional artist, Allie has won many awards as well as accepting commissioned work. She taught art classes in her home studio for twenty-six years. A member of many art associations in the past, she is currently affiliated with Ouachita Artists, Inc. and Three River’s Art Guild, Inc. Graves exhibits with Ouachita Artists Gallery and Studio, Mt Ida, AR.
